Tattletale At Work 4/14/20

On my personal Facebook, I NEVER talk about my job or where I am employed. NEVER. The reason, of course, is my outspokenness on a lot of topics. I don’t want my employer, who may differ with me, to hold any animosity toward me. That said, I would never mistreat anyone at my place of employment due to their beliefs shared on Facebook.

I’m kinda old fashioned. I think you’re entitled to your opinion. But I have had fellow workers report me and/or hand out copies of my posts on Facebook to other employees. Yes. That did happen.

I did pleasantly confront the guy when I learned he had used the company copier to distribute one of my posts among other employees. I suspect with great confidence that this same person reported me to my supervisor for another post.

(I no longer work there. I did not get fired! This happened a while back. I resigned from that job. I’m gainfully employed. )

Why do people do this?
